The most amazing thing about the Veyron is not that it accelerates to 60 mph in 2.5 seconds, it's that you can go back to zero in another 2.3 seconds, courtesy of its ceramic brake system. And at 1,001 hp, it takes an ingenious down force design, including its rear retractable spoiler, opening and closing lids and reduced ground clearance to keep it from achieving liftoff. The Veyron's 16-cyl., mid-positioned engine and 7-gear clutch transmission collude to reach a top speed of about 250 mph - definitely not for the faint of heart.
