Item Number: P-1859This is museum quality reproduction in sterling silver of very rare WWII Colonel Insignia made by Luxenberg. One of the most desirable insignia makers. These are called War Eagles because the head of the eagle is facing the arrows. In official Colonel insignia the head of the eagle faces the olive branch. You are bidding on a set of two in the large collar size. These are 1 1/2 inch wing span.Luxenberg oversize collar insinia, Colonel rank. No idea why by the uniform was 1/2 inch larger than regulations and the collar almost double size. Here is a chance to own a set of these until you find some originals ones or if you are a reenactor here is a chance to have the best. It should be noted that War Eagles were no longer authorized after 1926, yet many Colonels continued to wear them.
