Eagle Squadron 1942 Badge with DFC Sterling by Weingarten Gallery
Item Number: P-1756In 1942 the members of the a special RAF badge was awarded to each member of the three Eagle Squadrons, No. 71, No. 121, & No. 133, when the US joined the War and the men were transferred to US units. Only 244 Americans served with these three Squadrons and 82 of them were lost in action or training. . A handful of men were awarded a special version with a miniature Distinguished Flying Cross attached to the badge. I am trying to find out how many were awarded the DFC. One thing is certain it will be a small number. This is a museum quality reproduction made in sterling silver.
